Benjamin was born in March 15, 2003. And he was *always* meant for magic. Well, his parents didn't know it; they just thought he was highly imaginative, and had a bit of a problem focusing. Which he did, but that was neither here nor there. A veritable 'gifted child', his biggest challenge in school was socialising, and not getting bored to tears.

Never *quite* a problem child, he still often went on adventures that got him in trouble, going all around Oxford; where his father, Maurice Rousseau, taught as a history lecturer. He imagined all sorts of monsters and creatures that he shared the streets and parks with; never knowing what lay behind the veil. Until one day… that changed.

It was a near death experience. His first day in High School, at the age of 15. His grades… and a sinister rubric… led to him going to a accelerated school in Cambridge, a boarding school. St. Cuthbert's School for the Gifted. And it *was* for the gifted. Specifically, a plot to root out those 'special', and snuff it out. They recognised in these children a spark of something. A potential for something larger. Perhaps a gift for intuition, perhaps a secret in the blood, perhaps a connection to the spiritual… or in Ben's case; a Soul, ready to Awaken.

The figures behind it were… not human. They looked wrong. Strange. They came for him in the night; drugging and dragging him to a strange room; blood and metal in eldritch patterns. Long story short, Benjamin's awakening, and the power that came with it; atomised them. It was then and there he realised the *Truth* behind the world, and by GOD he would learn everything he could about it. He couldn't be blindsided again, and… as terrifying as it was, it was wonderful. Luckily, Oxford held something more than horrid secrets. After burning down the place, and getting the kids out (no one can prove anything, what a terrible electrical accident, oh noooo), he was Seen.

On his 17th birthday, Abraham Jones, one of his father's colleagues at Oxford saw him, quite by chance. And with his Mage Sight, saw something strange about the… already fairly strange youth. He was taken under his wing, while he went to a more normal, less burned down school.

He's come to Austin for a few reasons. For one, the WEIRD alliance sounds brilliant to him. collecting knowledge, pooling and sharing it, is infinitely better than siloing it. He's curious. And another, he wanted to move beyond his Mentor's tutelage, and strike out on his own. Or at least, find a more proactive one. Abraham was wise, but told him very little.

A young man of 21, Benjamin is still fairly tall. Not in a graceful way, but he’s lanky; with a build that he’s yet to fully grow into. Standing at 1.9m; he stands above his peers of a similar age. He has pale, fair skin; that comes from staying indoors most of the day. A mop of light brown hair sits on his head; and inquisitive brown eyes peer from behind wavy locks.

His fingers are ink-stained, and he’s got a faded burn scar or two running along his arms.
