====== The Free Council ======

The **Libertines** are a Sect of Mages who are part of The [[factions:Pentacle | Pentacle Alliance]]. Though they consider themselves a sect of their own, the orders of the [[factions:Diamond]] generally consider them to be just another order. This dispute matters, because the Free Council see themselves as the shepherd of not only [[:mage | mages]], but [[:Humans | Sleepers]] and [[Sleepwalker]]s as well. Combined with their tendency towards implementing democracy wherever possible, and their majority control over [[Austin]], the Diamond Orders grow greatly frustrated at how much say Sleepwalkers are getting in their politics. Not to mention that the Free Council's recent decision to redefine Sleepwalkers to include all [[:Others]] means that their numbers could potentially grow immensely.

Their community-focused philosophies have played a key roll in keeping Austin's governing bodies [[factions:WEIRD]] along with the rest of it.

They are often accused by the [[Diamond]] of being myopic, and too inwardly focused.
